Minnie Water to South West Rocks

When we set off on our new adventure I plan to head inland and down the New England as we have seen much of the far north coast. While we are saving for our new mini home to take on the road I thought I’d share some photos of places we’ve camped at along the coast.

I thought I’d start with some of my favourites.  The first time I took Harley camping in a tent was to Minnie Water just south of Grafton.  The camp area there is great! If you like spacious, bushy campsites with campfires, you’ll love Minnie Water.  There are some great bush walking tracks and we also do a bit of snorkelling in the bay and the usual possum hunting. For a budget option there is also Illaroo campground with toilets and bbq facilities for $12 per adult and $6 per child.

Just a few more kms down the road is Wooli.  We stayed at the Wooli Big 4 and we were lucky enough to get the most amazing site with the river at our front door. Which means Harley’s morning ritual was breakfast then fishing.  There is not much in Wooli except a pub, bowling club and Servo.  The Big 4 put on some great entertainment for kids so there is always something to do.  Conveniently the pub is right next door. If you’re a fishing family you’ll love Wooli. There is a small campground at Diggers Camp called Boorkoom campground which also has toilets and bbq facilities for the same price as Illaroo.

My favourite! South West Rocks!  We’ve been there a few times now and I just love it every time! Arakoon campground is THE BEST with full facilities. The photos speak for themselves.
